± Gherkin

London-21

30 St Mary Axe, also knows as “The Gherkin”.

Completed in 2003, it resides in what is colloquially known as the “Square Mile”, or The City of London. It was build on the site of The Baltic Exchange and The Chamber of Shipping, two historic buildings damaged beyond repair by a bomb blast in 1992, the work of the Provisional IRA.

Fun Fact: The City of London has a population of just over 7,000 people.
